Smartphone Connect App Reviews

Nice app, but battery use of awful

Great idea, really useful. But the battery usage is down the drain. Battery goes from 100% to 30% on my iPhone5s in 4 hours.

Doesnt work outside home

Loose connection and need to restart landline phone. Be more useful if it works outside home.

Abandoned app

I bought the expensive cordless phone only because of the app functionality, and it is a joke. It doesnt work on the background unless you open it every time you reconnect to the wifi network. Not updated to the Retina display. Great concept, horrible execution.

Update for IOS 7 is URGENTLY REQUIRED!!!!!

Where is update for ios7??? It is urgently rewuired. Otherwise the "smart" panasonic will be returned back to the shop.

iPhone 5

Super App. Alles funktioniert

Excellent App

Works as promised!

Almost but not quite

This app has some benefit in that you can answer and place landline calls from you iphone but it has several issues First it seems to go quiet in the background. If you take your iPhone out of the house, reconnection is not totally reliable on returning to you wifi. Second the ring tones you can set in settings on the app just dont work. You select a song you want to act as the ring tone but it never rings with that tone on incoming landline calls. Lastly the sound quality is a lot worse. There is frequently a lag and the quality of the sound is much worse than when compared with the landline phone. In summary it is a good start but not there yet.

Surprisingly useful

My landline phone at home was getting kinda lonely, I barely used it. I now find myself using it more often since I purchased the Panasonic cordless phone and the corresponding iPad Smartphone Connect app. Good word Panasonic.

Works with iOS 8.4

Convenient way to make and answer landline calls.

App stopped working after iOS 8.4 update

App detects new messages and when landline is in use but fails to make any landline calls. Please either update app or update your support site with remedy. Using iPhone 5S.

Works good

The reason I got the KX-PRW130 is the ability to make calls using my smartphone and it works! If the app is not launch, it will receive calls, therefore, I must leave the app launch at all time... Why not push notification? The graphic with this apps is so 1990, you can make it look more modern. Overall, is a great app!

Finally,

I think Im one of the very first to have this phone now in the United States its a great phone I love everything about it I love the fact that this app is capable of making each of my iPads and iPhones and additional handset. My iPad is always next me when Im home more so than the phone which is really nice .I can just pick it up and answer it works well Ive used it the full day today and had no problems

So close. Needs polishing.

Congrats to GeekGirl, who is obviously a woman of excellent taste in tech. That makes me the one of the other folks who spotted this system. The App is nothing short of FANTASTIC! It works as advertised, both on my iPhone &iPad, however I am still going to judge it harshly because I know Panasonic stands by their product & listens to their loyal customers, added to the fact that not too many people are going to review this App unless they have the correct cordless phone. So, Hats off to Panasonic for another awesome system, but I have to take two stars for not providing a Landscape View on the iPad (or the iPhone for that matter) and for not allowing users to access their Ringtone Library from this app when customizing tones in the App settings. Music is fine, but I’d like the option of using some tones I’ve grown fond of. Get that right, and it would be a Five Star App for sure.

1 change I would make

Awesome app. However...viewing in the landscape orientation would be a nice feature for the ipad. Otherwise, very cool.

Good effort but needs better integration

First off, you will need a compatible landline phone like the kx-prw130w to use this app. My hope was that by purchasing the phone and using the app, I could avoid the clutter of multiple handsets and reduce the number of devices I have to carry around the house with me. It succeeds at this but needs some polishing. I find the app seems to lag a bit in response to an incoming call and Ive had issues trying answer before the call is gone. Also it seems the ringer for the app must be silenced independently of the phone ringer, this can be a real issue having to go into the app and silence it every time, instead of just using the toggle on the phone.

Nice try ...

... looks good, tries to do what needs to be done, but is quite hard on the battery, and even after another install the call log crashes whenever I try to access it. So, hopefully, therell be another version real soon now? Yes, there is -- and it still crashes in the call log, even after un- and reinstall. Sigh.

Works great

This app works great even with our iPodTouch 4 devices and the Panasonic KX-PRW130 landline phone. It turns our iPodTouches into additional phones. We have two airports on our farm that are set for bridging mode and I can use an iPodTouch within range of either to intercom to a different iPodTouch, the KX-PRW130 handset or out to our landline phone for calls to the outside world as well as checking messages and taking incoming calls. I would like to see Panasonic release this app for the MacOSX as well. That would be very useful. It would also be nice if the app worked with bluetooth earphones like the Kinivo 240 and 220.

Iphone6?

Please update to optimize for iphone 6.

Needs an update

Not compatible with KX-TGE270

Feature request

This is a good barebones app that is surprisingly functional. Ive been using it for a couple months and it does most of what I need, pretty reliably. I would like the ability to copy the callers phone number from the keypad screen. And also to block numbers from the call log. Extra gratitude points for the ability to send the callers number to a web search such as 800notes.
